sweet and sour chicken chinese recipe
Boneless chicken battered and deep fried until crispy and golden brown then tossed with chunks of pineapples, peppers and carrots in a sweet and sour sauce.
Ingredients (2 servings)
  • 1 cup oil
  • ½ lb chicken breast or thigh meat *
  • 4 oz pineapple chunks
  • 2 oz carrots
  • 2 oz onions
  • 2 oz green bell pepper
  • ¼ cup your favorite crispy batter
  • 4 tbsp Asian Menu™ Sweet & Sour Sauce and Glaze
* You can substitute the chicken with beef, pork, shrimp, scallops or vegetables.

Preparing it (7 minutes)
  1. Cut chicken into small cubes.
  2. Remove excess water from chicken.
  3. Coat chicken with batter.
  4. Peel and slice carrots.
  5. Cut onions into wedges.
  6. Cut green bell peppers into wedges.

Cooking it (7 minutes)
  1. Batter & deep fry chicken until fully cooked then set aside.
  2. Use skillet to simmer Sweet & Sour sauce, peppers, pineapples and onions at medium heat until slightly soft.
  3. Add chicken and toss until sauce evenly coats chicken.
